Custom Home Build Process

Concept

Step 1
  1. It starts with our custom build questionnaire and phone call to discuss where you are in the process (including timing, lot needs, etc.).
  2. From there, we either schedule a Consultation or we begin the process to find the perfect lot.

Pre-Construction + Design

Step 2
  1. After we’ve secured a lot and had the initial consultation, we create an informed proposal.
  2. Next steps would be to create the preliminary drawings and review it all with you.
  3. Through collaborative discussions, we will fine tune the plan.

Construction

Step 3
  1. After a Construction Contract is signed, we begin the building process.
  2. You’ll be pulled in for selections and personalized decisions including (but not limited to) exterior colors/choices, windows, doors, roofing, siding, masonry, interior colors/choices, cabinets, flooring, paint, lighting etc.
  3. At this point, our site managers take the reigns and finish the project.
  4. Closing processes begin and you can plan to move in!

Yes, Helgeson Homes would be happy to meet with you and discuss building a custom home on your property. If you do not have a lot yet, Helgeson Homes can assist in your search for a suitable building lot. Oftentimes, having the builder on board when searching for a site can help coordinate site selection with the desired build characteristics to achieve a better finished product.

What should I bring to my first meeting with Helgeson Homes?

You can simply bring your questions and we can have a preliminary “get to know us” discussion, or we can start discussing your future home and take a look at any inspirational pictures/drawings you may have.

Do I need plans, and does Helgeson Homes provide them?

You do not need to bring in a plan. We can create a custom layout and design specifically for your style and life. If you do have plan or design ideas, we’d love to view them and help bring those elements into your project.

Do your homes have a warranty?

Yes, we ensure our work and leading warranty package on every new home. Each warranty comes with 1, 2, and 10-year portions. 

We want to ensure you are happy in your new home for many years to come. Each new home comes with our 1-year workmanship warranty to ensure things have been assembled properly. Also, the manufactured products that are included in your home each come with their own warranties directly from the manufacturer.
